about ...

Tourist or not, maybe you need a Sydney Guide, a map or just a book to read in the airplane. In any case, you will look for a book store.

Dymocks Booksellers is the biggest and one of the oldest booksellers in Australia. There are many franchises established across the city, covering most suburbs.

I can not recommend them as being the cheapest, but they will offer you in general a bigger range than other bookstores.

If you look for a book other than in English, I think the chances are very slim. Even a translation in English of a foreign writer is difficult to find, unless an American movie was made after that book recently.
