Kiama Lighthouse

Kiama lighthouse was built after a design made by the architect Edward Moriarty in 1887, on Blowhole Point.

With its height of 36.3 meters from sea level, Kiama lighthouse is visible from a distance of 31.5 km.

In 1887 the light was produced by an oil burner, upgraded to coal gas in 1908, to acetylene gas in 1920 and to electricity in 1969.

Lighthouse character: 4 white flashes with a 20s period.

How to get there
Kiama is situated 120 km. If you do not have your own transportation, best choice is to catch a train from Central Station in Sydney and go off the train at Kiama Station (Illawarra line). Check the City Rail timetables. See map.
